LEER es CRECER

Story

Fiesta Foods partnership with the Yakima Valley Partners for Education (YVPE), Save the Children, and the United Family Center to support community literacy.

At Sunnyside Fiesta Foods, the LEER es CRECER/ READING is GROWING Program was launched to support community literacy. Students and their families were greeted by representatives from the Mabton, Sunnyside, and Grandview school districts who helped students enroll or receive information about the Program. Kids who enrolled in the program were given a reading goal to complete for the summer. Throughout the summer, as kids reach their reading goals, they will earn prizes for their accomplishments.

To create this program Fiesta Foods partnered with the Yakima Valley Partners for Education (YVPE), Save the Children, and the United Family Center. Fiesta Foods and its partners are looking forward to expanding this program to support communities within the Tri-cities and Yakima areas.
